REV. DONALD L. PHILLIPS, III
Rev. Donald L. Phillips, III is a native of Detroit, MI and the son of Revs. William & Cheryl Phillips, who serve as pastor and assistant pastor of Parks Memorial AME Church in Romulus, Michigan. Rev. Donald Phillips accepted his call to preach in the summer of 1999 and set off on the path to prepare himself for ordained ministry. Rev. Phillips holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in Human Resources, and a Master of Divinity degree from Turner Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia. While in Atlanta he served for 4 years as the young adult and youth pastor of Greater Turner Chapel AME Church. He also assisted and ministered to students at Morris Brown, Clark-Atlanta, Spelman and Morehouse Colleges through InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Rev. Phillips was ordained an Itinerant Elder in the AME Church in August of 2004 under the leadership of Bishop Philip R. Cousin, and received his pastoral charge to Lewis Chapel AME Church in October of 2005.
Not only does Rev. Donald Phillips serve as the pastor of Lewis Chapel AME Church in Albion, MI, he also is the vice-president of the Albion Ministerial Alliance, a member Albion Branch of the NAACP and was elected to the Albion School Board, May 4th 2010. Pastor Phillips believes that the ministry of Jesus Christ must take place outside of the walls of the church as well. God has blessed him to teach and preach nationally and internationally including Canada, Jamaica, The Dominican Republic and Bermuda. None of these experiences compares to marrying his partner in ministry, the Rev. Teleah Phillips on April 19th, 2008. Pastor and Rev. Teleah Phillips enjoy teaching and ministering as a couple. They are also raising two wonderful children, Tyland and Taylor.
Pastor Phillips is a man of God that believes in the transformative power of God’s Word and prayer. You will often hear him say, “Little prayer, little power, some prayer, some power, much prayer, much power.”
